My raised garden
I got inspired to build a raised garden when some friends showed me how easy it was. So I went and bought all the materials - and got my husband to bang everything together. (He's a bit more handy with tools than I am.)
In a vague attempt at Hugelkultur, I layered it up with cabbage leaves, branches and twigs on the bottom, then a layer of horse manure, then partially decomposed compost, then good quality top soil, then good quality compost.
The garden is situated in full sun, so everythings is thriving. I'm growing courgettes, spinach, lettuce, onions and beetroots. I also planted brocolli but this got hammered by white butterflies.
