I love this Destitute Gourmet recipe from Sophie Gray's more stunning food from small change, as it makes a little bit of meat and vegetables go a long way. It's also healthy and tastes delicious.
- 1t sesame oil
- 400g lean beef cut into thin strips - schnitzel, rump or pre-cut stir-fry beef
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2c broccoli florets (and/or any other veges you want to use up)
- 1T fresh ginger, grated
- 3T soy sauce
- 2T rice wine/sake or rice wine vinegar
- 1T brown sugar
- 1/2c toasted cashews
Method
1. Heat oil in a large pan or wok and stir-fry the beef.
2. Add garlic, broccoli and ginger, then the soy sauce and rice wine and toss through.
3. Sprinkle in the sugar and continue to stiry-fry until vegetables are crisp tender.
4. Serve on basmati rice (or plain white rice for a cheaper, but less nutritious option) and top with cashews.
! ad those garden pics are beautiful! welldone!
ReplyDeleteLooks Good Emma, Its making my mouth water.
ReplyDeleteThis looks and sounds interesting! But before I cook this interesting recipe, I would like to know if I can replace the broccoli to another vegetables?
ReplyDeleteBeef Stir Fry
You sure can. It's the sauce flavours that make this recipe so good. Throw in any stir fry veges you fancy.
